I could not be more happy or proud to have my children at Faithway. I do not know why I waited so long to get them there! The school and its teachers and staff have been a blessing to my children. Best of all, my children are learning in a Christian environment and LOVE going to school daily.
Michelle Foster Cole, Parent of 3rd and 1st grade students
This is the best school, with the best teachers. My son loves going to school.
Amanda Warren, parent of kindergarten student
I am so grateful for this school and the impact that it has had on the lives of my children and my entire family.
Dawn Snyder Boillat, parent of 3rd and 1st grade students
Both of my sons, Paul and Tim, graduated from Faith High School. After going to Spring Arbor University, my oldest son, Paul, returned as a high school teacher and chaplain, along with many other responsibilities. He BELIEVES in FHS and FCS and desires to make a difference in the lives of this generation! I am so proud of him. Please pray for and support our teachers and this school.
Sue Stevens Drake, Parent of 2 alumni students
This school is our extended family. It is nice to know that the staff loves my child like it was their own. I love how smart my little guy is getting. He helps his fourth grade friend from a public school do his homework, and he is only in second grade. Most of all, he learns more about Jesus and that is the most important thing to learn about in life. I am truly blessed to have my child attend here.
Hope Dowaliby, parent of 2nd grade student
My take on this school may be a bit different than everyone else’s.
I am definitely a product of Christian education having attended Christian schools from elementary all the way through college. Most of my teaching experience has also been in Christian Schools, and Faith High is the third Christian School that I have taught at.
What makes this school so special to me is genuineness of the people, students and staff. No hypocrisy, what you see is what you get. This is a place that is most concerned with issues of the heart. It is very easy to dress a certain way and behave a certain way, and think that that is enough. Not the case here. A love for Jesus and a life that brings glory to His name is held in high regard. I’m not saying that other Christian schools don’t also believe that, it’s just that sometimes putting so much attention on the little things (tuck in your shirt, get a haircut, 1/4 inch of your knee shows when you sit down, etc.) can muddy the big picture of what is going on inside your heart.
Christina Oskey, Faith High School teacher
I love this school!!!
Courtney Lowell, 1st/2nd grade teacher
When deciding how to manage your children’s education, it makes sense to ask the one who invented education.
“You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and soul… And you shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 11: 18-19)
Only an education that has the liberty to address the whole child socially, emotionally, physically AND spiritually reaches the possibility of excellence.
Jeff Haggard, Faith High teacher
This school is so amazing. It is such a great family atmosphere. I love the focus on having a heart for God, and teaching all subjects from a Biblical perspective.
Ms. Vandy, kindergarten teacher
I believe my children have a “true” Christian world view because of the incorporation of Christ in every subject being taught by teachers who love the Lord and are followers of Jesus!
Strong family atmosphere – “It takes a village ….” (I could go on…but those are the main reasons.)
Jill Bogert, Administrative Asst., Parent of alumni and 10th grade student
How do you put into words what is bursting from your heart? A parent of a 2nd grade student just shared with me this morning that she wished she could pull out her heart and lay it on a table and let her heart tell everything she loves about this school. This school has been a piece of my life (in some capacity) for the past 18 years.
In that time, I have seen teachers, administrators, sports, fine arts; curriculum and families come and go. Sometimes the changes have been difficult. Many times the changes have been a blessing. In all of that, one truth has remained: this is GOD’S school and He reigns in this place.
Above all else, I have never had to wonder if my children were going to feel the spirit of the Lord as they went about their schoolday. I have never questioned if my children would be prayed over, for and with no matter how little or big the circumstance.
This is a place of comfort, peace, healing, learning, growing, joy, encouragement, transformation and connection. What other school offers all of that along with a quality education?
Words can’t really do justice to the question of “WHY send your kids here?” because it’s not an explanation; it’s an experience.
Laura Walthers, Principal, Parent of alumni and 11th grade student
As a parent and educator, I have taught in and sent my children to both public and Christian schools. Faith has a unique blend of solid academics with a real emphasis on ministry! Christian values and attitudes are emphasized while ethics and morals of the home are supported and reinforced.
In the 12 years I’ve been involved at Faith, I’ve seen students, including my own children, transformed by the Word of God which is the plum line for everything that is taught here. Students leave here armed with the TRUTH of God’s Word as it applies to all areas of life.
I have the pleasure of having two of my grandson’s here now and I know they are being nurtured, loved and challenged on a daily basis. In addition to the opportunities for Christian friendships and small class sizes allowing for more interaction and attention with teachers, I want my family in a nurturing environment of accountability where relationship with Christ is encouraged and modeled.
Martha Kemp, former Faith High teacher, Parent of 2 alumni and grandparent of 7th grade student and child in our daycare.
I’ve been thinking about this for a couple days and it’s very difficult to fully express everything I feel (even for me). The truth is, though it has been often repeated, this place is my family.
When I when through the most difficult periods of my life, both as student and adult, the people of Faithway were consistently there for me and genuinely cared (and care) about my success, not just as a student or educator, but as a person.
I am inspired constantly by my colleagues and continually encouraged to pursue ideas and fresh vision for my students and myself, beyond the status quo of just what’s expected of me. Because of that, I get to be more than just 45 minutes of instruction a day to my students. I get to mentor and encourage and inspire every day, not based out of my own abilities, but based out of God’s work in me that is affirmed and encouraged every single day here.
To be so thoroughly and completely loved and supported by people every day of your life and to be able to give that away to students in return is a gift so few ever experience and is one of the main reasons I love this place so much and am so passionate about its success.
